Kraš Acquires Production Complex in Zaprešić

Kraš is launching a new investment cycle and creating the foundations for a significant increase in production capacity and expansion of its operations - key prerequisites for further growth and long-term strengthening of its competitiveness.

Kraš d.d. has signed an agreement with the Spanish company ROCA for the purchase of a site covering approximately 200,000 square metres, including existing industrial facilities in the Zaprešić area, as a potential new location for future production. No final decision has been made regarding the possible relocation of the factory from Zagreb, and any decision will depend on market conditions, the regulatory framework, and broader macroeconomic and geopolitical circumstances.

If all necessary conditions are met, production at the new location within the Zagreb metropolitan area would begin in five years or more. The relocation process, if approved, would be carried out gradually and in phases to ensure uninterrupted continuity of production.

“At our current location in Ravnice, production has been operating for more than 20 years at stable but limited volumes, with no possibility of significantly increasing production capacity. Expanding production is precisely the key prerequisite for substantial future growth and long-term strengthening of competitiveness - a step forward that a company with a century-long tradition, whose products have been part of generations’ lives, deserves. The Zaprešić location would enable gradual expansion and optimisation of business processes, allowing us to realise our full potential,” said Tomislav Bagić, President of the Management Board of Kraš, adding that the intention is to keep production within the Zagreb metropolitan area.

Kraš’s long-standing tradition and product quality are the foundation of its recognition and the trust it has built with consumers. The company intends to continue developing these values within the communities where it operates, and a potential relocation opens up opportunities for dialogue with local communities.

A potential relocation would also create new job opportunities. The company emphasises that its goal is to retain all existing employees, and should the decision to relocate be made, special attention would be given to supporting employees in adapting to the new location.
